Community Outreach: Working Together to be the Change – An Interactive Workshop

Corporate Citizenship is on the rise in the communities in which we work and live in. Businesses are reaching out to their communities to get involved and help. There are many benefits of an employer participating and championing community. Those benefits include (but are not limited too) increased engagement, increased morale, reduced turnover, and brand recognition. However, there are even more benefits when we consider the community at large; as well as the individuals that are volunteering. Together, we will go on an interactive journey of building our communities up and springing into action to help. Participants can expect a short presentation on community outreach while getting hands on with some of the activities that go along with it! Participants can expect to learn how to assemble STEM and Hygiene kits. Additionally, Participants will put pen to paper writing thoughtful messages to our Military, LGBTQIA+ community, and more. Individuals will learn about speed networking, reporting, and best practices for hosting events and finding non-profit partners for their organization. Individuals will be able to take a sample of activities created. However, the bulk of items will be donated to local non-profits within the city putting community at the forefront of this workshop.
