This workshop explains the process for developing sound standard operating procedures (or SOPs) for your facility or research laboratory. The instructors will review what an SOP is and why they are important to our industry and daily operations. Topics that will be covered include formatting, content, writing tips, and management strategies designed to yield SOPs that improve the quality, efficiency, and reproducibility of animal studies. Attendees will participate in several group activities that demonstrate the utility of SOPs, how SOPs are developed, and what makes an SOP great.
