About our Presenters

Devorah Gallardo is currently a Veterinary Associate working for NCI in Building 37 at NIH. While she recently celebrated 20 years of service at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Devorah became interested in a research career after hearing Colonel Nancy Jaax give a talk about the Ebola Reston outbreak in college. Before settling at NCI, Devorah worked not just around the NIH, but around the country in many different environments and with many different lab animal species. With over 20 scientific publications to her name, Devorah is proud of her contributions to the scientific community.

Kat Felter is currently an educator with MCPS and previously worked for DCPS. She found yoga while attending Virginia Commonwealth University and it changed her life and her outlook on life. She has been practicing yoga for over 15 years and teaching for about 10 years. Kat believes yoga has helped her grow more self-aware and heal past trauma. Over the years, she has expanded her yoga teaching to kids and into the aerial silk. Her intention for all her yoga classes is to help participants connect with their inner peace and strength. Through breathwork, postures and yoga philosophy, she guides her students to be more aware of, and connecting with, their physical and emotional bodies.
