Dr. Jessica Hoffman will discuss a novel method for urine collection in the rat using hydrophobic sand in order to perform bio-marker and metal analyses.  In addition, she will discuss the animal welfare benefits of using hydrophobic sand versus metabolic caging.  Lastly, you will learn of the importance of her research as it pertains to the Department of Defense.
